Norton Hall



General Information


  • Norton Hall is handicap accessible. Patrons with special needs may be dropped off in front of Norton Hall. Please obtain a limited-time street permit from the Main Gate of the Institution for the drop off.
  • Visitors may park in lots near the entrance gates of The Institution, either Hurst or the Main Gate for a fee. The Institution provides regularly scheduled complimentary shuttle bus and tram service on the grounds during the season.
  • During the season short-term handicapped parking permits may be obtained upon arrival at the Main Gate Welcome Center Ticket Office and there are a limited number of handicap parking spaces in the back of Norton Hall.
  • Wheelchair and companion seating is available only in the Orchestra section. For those who can transfer from a wheelchair to a seat, the areas at each end of most of the orchestra rows are also accessible. Please be sure to discuss special needs when ordering tickets.
  • Restrooms are available in the lobby of Norton Hall and in Bratton Theatre next door.
  • A pay phone is available in the lobby of Norton Hall.
  • During intermission bottled water and some snacks are sale at the ticket booth in front of Norton Hall. Food and drinks (except water) are not permitted inside the theater.
  • The Chautauqua Opera Guild maintains a boutique of Chautauqua Opera t-shirts, aprons, mugs and fans and many more products. The boutique is open ½ hour before curtain time and during intermission only.
